TIPS FOR TOURISTS. THAT'S YOU!Tip #1 - Slip, Slap, Slop
In Australia we have a saying that goes 'Slip, Slap, Slop'. This is our way of remembering that whenever you go out to apply sunscreen. It is also smart to re-apply after 2 hours if you're swimming. Tip #2 - Money You can easily exchange foreign money to Australian dollars (AUD) at banks, hotels and international airports. Credit cards that are most frequently accepted are American Express, master card and visa. Tip #3 - Tipping Unlike in America, in Australia it is not expected to tip waiters and waitresses. the tips do not make up their salary, that comes out of the business itself. Tip #4 - Emergency number The emergency number for Police, Ambulance and Fire department in Australia is '000' Tip #5 - Energy adapter Power point plugs in Australia have three holes instead of the American two holes so you may have to buy an adapter for you chargers etc. Reference - 'useful tips' [online] 2015, Available: http://www.australia.com/en/planning/useful-tips.html [Accessed 26 July 2015] |
